Caroline’s path in art and design has always walked the line between instinct and discipline, but her story began with something even rarer: right out of high school, she became the first in University of Massachusetts history to receive a double tuition scholarship—one for art, one for athletics. It wasn’t just a nod to her skill, but a recognition of her drive. That same year, she trained her way to the Olympic Trials for field hockey, an experience that sharpened her focus on what matters—on the field and far beyond it.

At UMASS, Caroline thrived, earning her BFA in Painting by blending the rigor of athletics with a creative vision. Every season spent in the studio or on the turf deepened her belief that discipline and inspiration are two sides of the same coin. That approach carried her to New York City, where she completed her master’s at Pratt, earning a scholarship for Academic Excellence. A pivotal summer at Pentagram in London gave her a close-up look at the international design world—what stuck with her were not the glamorous moments, but the lessons in grit, patience and integrity.

Her career since has ranged from Manhattan’s high-energy studios to rural Tennessee, where she co-founded Red Canoe, a boutique graphic design firm. Long before remote work was common, she built a studio model based on trusting collaboration across distance—anchored in the idea that creativity shouldn’t be boxed in by geography. Brands like Barnes & Noble and Chronicle Books took notice, drawn to her gift for turning complex ideas into design that feels essential and inviting.

After years in the thick of branding and creative mentorship, Caroline felt a pull to bring her passion for health and performance to the forefront. She shifted to sport nutrition, working directly with elite athletes to help them reach their peak. It looked like a pivot from the outside, but for her it was a deepening—melding lessons from art and sport into something new. This blend of design thinking and sport science, attention to aesthetics and the human body, shaped a practice where creativity meant whole-person care.

Now, Caroline works with clients who want their brands to stand out with clarity and distinction. She’s known for translating complexity into visual language that’s both memorable and true to the people behind it. Whether building a new identity from scratch or refreshing a legacy brand, she brings vision, precision and a sharp instinct for what resonates.

Her side project—a line of artful paper goods—still lets her explore color and wit on a smaller scale, a creative outlet that echoes her belief in the beauty of everyday moments.

Caroline’s work has earned the admiration of major clients and the respect of her peers: she’s been named among the 40 most influential graphic designers in America, has work in the AIGA Archives and Columbia’s Rare Book Library and has received honors from Communication Arts, AIGA, Graphis, and the New York Art Directors Club. What sets her apart isn’t just an eye for nuance, but her intent focus—whether refining a brand, advising an athlete, or sketching at her kitchen counter. At the center of it all is her belief that small moments matter and that art, health and presence belong in the everyday.

For Caroline, it’s about seeing what others overlook and helping brands—big and small—come alive with purpose and style.
